I was one of the experts interviewed by Leader Community News to discuss how the current coronavirus pandemic will affect the Australian dating scene.

Short term relationships can be hard to move from on – but it’s ok to grieve. Read my story here.
This week I’m on the brilliant news.com.au podcast, Ghosted, where I talk about my “hilarious, depressing and somehow reassuring” social media creation, ‘Bad Dates of Melbourne’.
We’ll cover:
Building your dating confidence
How to start a conversation when you have no idea what to say
Getting better profile pics: (bring your smartphone because we’ll take some!)
Writing a bio that stands out
Ali’s unverified tips to get your profile seen by more people
Red flags: spotting dodgy people
Some reviews from the last BDOM workshop:
“It was brilliant.”
“The workshop helps a lot and boosts up your confidence.”
“It was awesome.”
“I learnt so much – honestly, it’s like getting the ‘cheat codes’ to the apps. I’ve been putting some tips into practice and it’s already paying off with my chats.”
The Work-Shop is BYO so if you’d like to bring something special to drink, please go ahead.
The Bad Dates of Melbourne Workshop goes for three hours and wraps up at 9pm. You will get a workbook to take home. We’re a short walk from the Fitzroy bar scene, so you may want to head out with other participants after. I might join you after I pack up. The class is capped at 20 people.
This workshop is for everyone, whether you are confident or a little shyer. I’m a friendly person and will do my best to make you feel comfortable – don’t be afraid to come solo.
The last workshop was SOLD OUT: so grab a ticket before they go!

‘A guide to surviving Christmas single, when your primary relationship is with a chicken nugget’ is out now: another groundbreaking piece from me, your BDOM admin and the author of ‘Why are you single?: the reason could be chicken nuggets’, as well as ‘Why I got banned from Tinder as swiping as an egg’. Just so you know, my last story popped up in the related news to a story about Greta Thunberg. Expecting my Walkley any day now.

There are only five tickets left to Good Swipes of Melbourne: pretty much it’s what you want to do to revitalise your dating life – and have fun doing it. Click here to secure your spot.
Bad Dates of Melbourne was mentioned on radio station Nova 100 yesterday and sparked a segment on what else but BAD DATES. Chrissy Swan said, “If I was on Facebook, I’d be following the hell out of that.” What excellent words!

The BDOM shop is now open for business. Spend all your rent money here.
